Prescriptions
It is the policy of the practice to comply with existing regulations on the supply, prescribing and dispensing of prescription-only medicines. We are therefore able on request to issue prescriptions to allow medications to be dispensed at another legal outlet such as a pharmacy.
In order for us to do so we require 24 hour notice in normal working hours in order to process the request. It is also a requirement that your pet has been examined for the condition the drug is being dispensed for within 3 months of the date of dispensing. We currently do not charge for routine monitoring checks of the animals condition on medication but consultation charges are charged if any significant changes are made to medication or additional problems are discussed.
We make an administative charge currently of £8.05(inc 20% VAT).A separate prescription is required for each item prescribed and a maximum of 3 months medication will be prescribed at any one time.
We are also able to supply medication on receipt of a legally written precription from another vet.
